The company construction works started in 2019, but were severely hampered by the two successive covid-19 lock down periods. This led to the construction works being completed by the end of 2021. The initial operations for the company were registered in 2021 with the testing of the machinery soon after installation. Further stress tests were carried out in the first season of 2022.
In addition to Agri-business, the Club has plans of scaling out to other financially profitable opportunities including; financial market products, shares, stocks markets, habitat, infrastructure, education, private equity, health, environment, real property and other profitable ventures.
At the same time, SCIL is interested in impacting the societies within which it operates. In so doing, it is currently engaged in establishing partnerships with farmer groups with the aim of providing modern agri-business technical skills and market opportunities towards increasing their income and overall wellbeing. In doing this, SCIL aims to link 6,000 farmers to sustainable agriculture, Agro-input dealers, Commodity and Financial Markets through addressing bottlenecks in the maize value chain.
